Past/ Modern
Trend&Styling Boards
Evaluation
I choose the Spring/summer 16 trend of past/modern for one of my final trends. The trends consisted of aspects of historic and classical influences that have met the modern world with contemporary artists to create a trend that brings history into the twenty-first century with classic shapes and fabrics with the modern edge of adventure and youth added to the equation.
For my mood board i took images that gave a classic, original feel to them and combined this with elements of irony against historic references looking at shape and sculpture of how the items fall alongside identifying the colour palette of the type of scheme we can expect to see from the upcoming trend. The historic theme has been given a modern up beat with outspoken messages forming a basis for the trend, with the usual femininity about the look.
For the Styling board i looked at classic shaping off old fashioned clothing but giving an influence of modern today by adding in the semi see through top contrasting with the bright underwear and tattoos to give a structured femininity a rebellious edge that really brings the trend to life.
If i was to redo these boards i would consider aspects such as the wobbly outlines that surround the images i would work on altering them to create a neater and more polished finish. I would also look at varying the clothing garments worn to show different areas of that set trend to provide a wider insight into what the trend really stands for. I would consider adding hand embellishment into the boards to create a more 3D effect as adding netting or beading to the photographs would have worked well alongside my designs to give a more handmade feel and more interaction with the board.
