Past/ Modern
Trend&Styling Boards
Evaluation

I choose the Spring/summer 16 trend of past/modern for one of my final trends. The trends consisted of aspects of historic and classical influences that have met the modern world with contemporary artists to create a trend that brings history into the twenty-first century with classic shapes and fabrics with the modern edge of adventure and youth added to the equation.
For my mood board i took images that gave a classic, original feel to them and combined this with elements of irony against historic references looking at shape and sculpture of how the items fall alongside identifying the colour palette of the type of scheme we can expect to see from the upcoming trend. The historic theme has been given a modern up beat with outspoken messages forming a basis for the trend, with the usual femininity about the look.
For the Styling board i looked at classic shaping off old fashioned clothing but giving an influence of modern today by adding in the semi see through top contrasting with the bright underwear and tattoos to give a structured femininity a rebellious edge that really brings the trend to life.
If i was to redo these boards i would consider aspects such as the wobbly outlines that surround the images i would work on altering them to create a neater and more polished finish. I would also look at varying the clothing garments worn to show different areas of that set trend to provide a wider insight into what the trend really stands for. I would consider adding hand embellishment into the boards to create a more 3D effect as adding netting or beading to the photographs would have worked well alongside my designs to give a more handmade feel and more interaction with the board.

DEEP SEA
TREND&STYLING BOARD
EVALUATION

For the trend of deep summer, which i nicknamed deep sea i created a trend board that showed imagery and style that gave a feel of the trend, an idea of what the inspiration behind the trend was and the type of colours and textures that will be present for the season. The trend board focused on the strong importance of the ocean and the creatures and aspects that make up this as a trend. Colouring was very close to oceaniuc tones, with highlighted vibrances of neon glows aspiring the other wordly influences into the board.
I crafted the board together by cutting out the images and placing them together to give an overall look on where my inspiration came from in order to create a styling board. The images that were taken were related to the concept of the ocean being above and below the surface. I took pictures of surfing and scuba diving because they are water sports that relate to adventure, sport and exploration under the sea.
If I was to redo the boards I would have been more prepared in time an have got them developed at a photography studio to create a more glossy effect. I would also not have cut the images out as they created a lot of blurry edges which i couldn't alter on photoshop so I would just add the box shaped images and collage them. Also the quality definition of the images was not that great so i would need to adjust the camera settings better to create a more high quality board. Overall i like the trend I choose as it is vibrant, new and creative but wish the mood boards had a more neater finish to them.

Spring/Summer 16 Update

Dusky Neutral Underwear is the key component for Spring/Summer 16 it is all about. Subdued tones of blue, pink and grey act as elegance under semi sheer clothing for the perfect summer look. It may be important what you wear, but this season its all about whats underneath that counts.
